Facilities at St. Andrews Golf Courses

St. Andrews offers splendid facilities that are wonderful to visit.

The Links Clubhouse

Since 1995, visitors to St Andrews have been able to relax in the magnificent Links Clubhouse opened by Bernard Gallacher, then Captain of the European Ryder Cup Team.

The Clubhouse, which lies beside the first tees of the New and Jubilee Courses, and a golf buggy ride from the first tee of the Old Course, is a state of the art building providing a very warm welcome and comprehensive facilities for all golfers and their guests. The staff are friendly and courteous, and a chauffeur driven buggy is available to take you to the first tee of the Old Course. There is a large free car park in front of the Clubhouse.

Besides well appointed locker rooms on the ground floor (it is the only clubhouse in St. Andrews which has locker rooms for both men and women).

Official St. Andrews Links souvenirs are also on sale in the recently refurbished golf shop behind the Old Course 18th green.

Any surplus arising from the clubhouse and shops is used to improve the care and maintenance of the courses and the services provided to golfers.

The Golf Practice Centre

Used by the Scottish golf squad, the Golf Practice Centre is a state-of-the art facility with 44 driving bays. Golf instruction is available, as are practice putting greens.

This comprehensive centre for practicing driving, iron play, pitching, bunker play and putting, opened in 1993. The floodlit driving range uses only top quality balls and a seated viewing and light refreshment area is available, along with changing facilities.

The driving range has twelve covered and thirty-two open bays and a landing zone which is 400 yards long. A video facility is available for those under professional tuition.

Golf balls are dispensed in units of 50 and the charges are £2.20 for adults and £1.20 for children. There are two discounted periods for children, 8.00am - 10.30am and 5.00pm - 6.30pm, when the charge is reduced to 50p. "Smart cards" giving twenty units of 50 balls can be purchased for £34.

St Andrews also has a floodlit, 400 yard driving range to test your strength. Even if you cannot enjoy a booking, why not get a taste of history and enjoy an hour of practice at a magnificent facility?
