Throughout the years, the Old Course has seen its share of additions and modifications, but its soul remains that which was plotted by "Mother Nature," considered the official designer. Old Tom Morris and Alister Mackenzie have also added some things over the years, and the course now stretches over 7,000 yards for the Open. For the daily player, it's still one of a kind.

The Fairmont St. Andrews Devlin Course in Scotland still has a somewhat "new" feeling in the home of golf. But the combination of golf and luxury at the resort can arguably be met by only one or two other destinations in all of Scotland (maybe Europe). And this would be true even if the resort were not located in the birthplace of golf. One of the best aspects is that the resort's courses are open to the public at very reasonable rates.
